Do you really love Jesus

When I was young, I was at lost when the preacher asked, “Do you really love Jesus?” I know I love Jesus, but how do I make myself so sure? That was the question.

Well, a simple and quick answer to that came much later from Evangelist Rev. Imchayanger during one of the revival meetings at our local church. That night, he preached on LOVE, the theme of that revival. Well, the explanation was very simple. He asked, “What do you do when you are in love with someone???” Oh yeah, we all know that – When you love a girl, you would always think of her, talk about her and talk to her. Well, all of you revolve around her. Whole day she is engrossed in your thoughts, the last thought before you go to sleep is ‘her’, the first thing in your head in the morning is ‘her.’

That’s what happens when you love Jesus! If you really love him, you would think of his goodness all the time – like how he bore the sufferings for your sins, and still loves you despite your shortcomings. You would love to share about him to others – talk about him all the time. Lastly, you would love to talk (pray) with him every moment of the day! These are the sure signs of loving God. Until and unless you have the urge to do these things, I don’t think you are really in love with him.

So next time if a doubtful thought ever crosses your mind as to whether you love Jesus or not, remember this article and cross check yourself.
