Brazil vs Germany World Cup 2014: Why Brazil Lost

I am not a football pundit - Just a keen watcher of the game. But even someone like me could easily make out why the host nation failed so badly last night.

Many say that the main factor was Neymar’s absence.  Well, it counted too but not entirely. To me, the absence of their captain Thiago Silva had greatly contributed to their loss. After all captain means leader; the commander and orchestrator of the game. Football is a war and the victory belongs to the most tactical team and not to the strongest. It is both a physical as well as a brain game. And in the absence of their experienced general to command, they were bound to doom.

Besides, one thing I really couldn’t understand was the way the Brazilians deserted their defence area. Instead of defending, all of them were sort of competing to score! That was a tragic mistake. In my opinion, they should have rallied around the defence area and steadied for sometime after the 3rd goal.

They had some chances in the second half but the fire had already gone out from them. That’s why they couldn’t score. So sad. Thank the gracious Germans! They could have scored more had they showed no mercy!

Well, whatever the outcome on the night of July 13 be, I think Germany is the best team this world cup. And I think I know why. Unlike other nations, most of their players are from the same club – Bayern Munich. Being in the same team for years, they are used to playing together. Hence, their combination is great. After all football is a team game and it takes teamwork to succeed.

So sorry for Brazil. But this is not the end. Surely you will rise.

Can’t wait for the final - May the best team win!!!
